Sen kunniaksi, kun serkkuni tuli Saksasta tänne Pyhäjoelle mökkeilemään, päätin järjestää meille pienen extempore piknikin illalla. Ei tarvinnut kauaa miettiä minne mentäisiin, rakastan nimittäin joen ympäristöä ja virtaavaa koskea, erityisesti pientä kukkulaa josta avautuu mieletön maisema. Kukkula on vähän piilossa, täytyy tarpoa pitkän heinikön ja metsäalueen läpi, mutta parin nokkosen piston arvoinen paikka. Kaupasta hain vähän naposteltavaa, sipsejä ja vaahtokarkkeja, ja tietysti siiderit lasipulloissa. (Haha ehdottomasti lasipullot!)
My cousin came here to our summer house from Berlin, so to celebrate that I thought it’d be a fun idea to have a little evening picnic, so we could catch up and all that, while enjoying the warm summer night. I knew immediately where we should go, by the river to a small hill, where you can see a beautiful river view and the sunset. That hill is a little hidden place, but it’s worth going through a long grass and getting burned by a couple nettles haha. I bought us some snacks, like chips and marshmallows, and of course cold ciders in glass bottles. (Glass bottles – must.)
All spontaneous extempore -moments are the best ones. It was so fun to catch up with my cousin, it’s funny how we see each other always like twice a year, but still it feels every time like nothing has changed. We have so many memories here from Saint River (we used to come here in our childhood), and always we laugh at them again and again. I need to visit Berlin soon!

I get why you love this place. It’s beyond beautiful! <3 and great to hear that your cousin was visiting you! Have long has it been since you were in Berlin? 2 years already? I can't remember, but I guess it's time to get back.
I'm really jealous that you have Somersby blueberry in Finland, we only have apple and blackberry. Anyway, these pictures you took are amazing. Have a lovely sunday! I'm going to the movies later to see "Me Before You" - have you seen it? 🙂 x
