Finland celebrates 100 years of independence today. It’s been amazing to experience the celebration, people have been so happy and kind today, and everything feels a little festive. All the blue and white light shows, special 100-year theme everywhere, events around the country, family gatherings, festive dinners, firework shows, lighting up candles, appreciating everything Finnish and all the independence day traditions. I can’t believe it actually snowed today too, that was the only thing missing. I’m so grateful to have four seasons here. I’m so grateful for the nature: the lakes, the forests, the fresh air. Grateful for the freedom, and for our grand parents and grand grandparents for fighting to gain our freedom. Grateful for the typical Finnish characters: the honesty, humbleness, persistence. Grateful for the fact that quiet moments and not small-talking is okay, and everyone has their own space. Grateful for the rye bread, liquorice and the best chocolate. Grateful and proud to call this place home, no matter where I travel I always love coming back. Should really celebrate all of this every single day. ?

Ihana teksti ihanasta Suomesta ?
Marianna says
Uskon, toivottavasti pääset säännöllisesti käymään kuitenkin täällä! 🙂 Fazerin sininen on kyllä jotenkin kaikista suklaista poikkeava, jos yhtä suklaata söisin loppuelämäni olisi se pakko olla tuo 😀 Kiitos Julia ihanasta kommentista!

I gotta admit that living in Finland was my main plan but learning Finnish is so hard that it became plan B. But because of you (mainly) Finland will always have a special place in my heart. Hope we can meet in person in the future!
